Marion Price, MA, MFT, CEAP, MAC

Marion Price has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1989.  She is co-owner of LifeChanges Counseling Center and has been an Assistant Professor for the last twenty years in the Alcohol and Drug Studies Program at Glendale Community College.

Marion has a Masters in Addiction Counseling and provided Masters level clinical supervision at the Pasadena Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependency.  She is a substance abuse Professional and works with families and other substance abuse related disorders.

In addition, Marion Price is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional and works with many insurance companies and corporations.

Marion has a personal interest in working with developmentally disabled individuals and has volunteered countless hours with Special Olympics and the Parents and Teachers Association.

 


Patricia A. Sanora, MA, MFT, CADC-II, NCAC-II

Patricia Sanora, is a co-owner of LifeChanges Counseling Center.  She is a State of California licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (since 1987), a California Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (since 1982) and is a NAADAC The Association for Addiction Professionals National Certified Addiction Counselor. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Alcohol and Drug Studies Program at Glendale Community College (since 1987).

Pat served as Master’s level clinical supervisor at the Share Unit, St. Luke Hospital, Pasadena from 2/1994 to 8/26/99; and was clinical supervisor of Share Too, Inc. from 1/1997 to 12/1997.

Her specialties include:

The exploration of substance abuse issues for the individual and the family of a chemically-dependent person; recovery from childhood abuse issues; anger management; grief and loss; and personal identity.

Pat utilizes cognitive, behavioral, and gestalt techniques and a 12-step philosophy in her practice. She is passionate about helping those afflicted with the illness of alcoholism and drug addiction, and those who love, care about, and are conflicted about someone who suffers from these problems.

Pat is a member of the Continuing Education Consortium Board which provides continuing education for students, certified counselors and licensed persons.

She is personally involved in the mentally-challenged community as the result of her son’s developmental needs and issues.

Pat believes that by helping ourselves, we become role models for others and, therefore, help to effect a change in society without becoming distraught or locked into depressing thoughts about the state of our environment. We can all learn to take care of “our own little corner of the world”.

 


Patrick Kelly

Patrick is a Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor(CATC) as granted by the California Association for Alcohol & Drug Educators (CAADE).

He has worked in the addictions field for the last four years in both facility and private settings. He is currently continuing his education at Pacific Oaks College.
 



Sharon Romero, MS

Sharon Romero, MS, C.A.T.C.

Sharon Romero has a Master of Science Degree in Psychology. She is trained as a Mediator through the Los Angeles Bar Association and is also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Treatment Counselor and Certified Anger Management Facilitator.

Ms. Romero has extensive experience working with youth in school settings. She was asked to write a 10-week curriculum on conflict mediation for at-risk youth which was funded by the Federal Government.

As one of the tools, Ms. Romero uses Creative Expression, (better known as art therapy) to assist individuals in uncovering that which is hidden and that which is ready to be revealed, allowing yet another layer of the onion to be peeled and healed.

Ms. Romero is a passionate speaker who has conducted workshops in schools for students, parents and staff. She also does trainings at the corporate level and nonprofit organization on such topics as conflict mediation, bullying, building healthy family relationships and anger management, for example.


Stuart Shipko, MD

Stuart Shipko, M.D. is a board certified psychiatrist in private practice in Pasadena, CA.  Known for his work in the field of psychosomatic medicine, his clinical subspecialty is panic disorder.

He has condensed some of his clinical experience in a book, Surviving Panic Disorder, and is well known for his research, education and clinical treatment of panic disorder.  His newly published book is based on many years of clinical experience with thousands of panic disorder patients and provides crucial information on the most common issues that people with this misunderstood condition face.

Dr. Shipko is well-informed concerning the effects and side effects of the SSRIs and Xanax, and has provided expert testimony on these drugs.  He has testified in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals concerning Paxil addiction as well as other adverse reactions to these drugs.  An outspoken critic of some psychiatric practices, Dr. Shipko is a frequent lecturer at the SafeHarbor conferences. 

In addition, Dr. Shipko serves on the expert panel at the Power-Surge website where he is a frequent guest host on web-chats concerning mental health issues.
